Ghana assistant coach Maxwell Konadu has discarded talks of a return to Asante Kotoko.
Konadu coached the side to the league title in the 2011/12 season but left after receiving an offer from the Ghana FA.
Almost five years on, rumours were rife this week that he was in talks to take over the position that has been made vacant by the exit of Croat Zdravko Logarusic.
However, he has moved to quash the reports. According to him, he has no plans of leaving the national team, neither does he believe he can combine both roles.
“I cannot control these rumours and there is no truth in them. I’m still a national coach and it is practically impossible for me to take another club role and combine the two. That won’t work, people should understand it,” Konadu said.
