Even before his official unveiling, new Ghana national coach Kwasi Appiah has already kicked off duties.
The 57-year-old tactician was at two match venues during the weekend FA Cup games scouting possible candidates for the local component of the Black Stars who have an impending assignment in two months’ time.
Ghana will be hosting a 16-nation tournament organized by the West African Football Union (Wafu) and will present the local Black Stars for the competition.
On Saturday, the former Ghana left-back watched the game between Inter Allies and Liberty Professionals where the latter advanced to the Round of 32 after penalty shootout.
Ironically, Appiah’s rumoured two assistants – Ibrahim Tanko and Maxwell Konadu were seated together during the game at the El Wak Stadium.
He also made his way to the Accra Sports Stadium to watch Hearts of Oak triumph 2-1 over first division side Sporting Mirren on Sunday.
Kwasi Appiah has been tasked with building a formidable homegrown Black Stars side for the qualifiers to 2018 CHAN in Kenya.
