Struggling AshantiGold forward Hans Kwofie admits the side is under pressure to avoid another slip in the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday afternoon.
The Miners, first from bottom of the 16-team league table, host Medeama SC at the Len Clay Stadium.
Speaking ahead of the match, Kwofie who will be facing his former club confessed “the team has been poor.”
“And we have to buckle up and ensure victory against Medeama today. We have been really awakened by the events of the past few days. The fans are very angry and we more or less have to win this game to save our lives,” he stated.
Fans of the side allegedly stormed the team’s training grounds on Monday and threatened mayhem to the side following their FA Cup elimination by lower tier side Asokwa Deportivo last weekend.

AshGold coach CK Akonnor has admonished his charges to toughen up and show extra commitment to the course of the club.
“The players need to change their attitude and mentality; it is unprofessional if they are not ready to die for the club. There are lot of work to be done and we need to fix players who are ready to play,” he said.
