Bolga All Stars, Hearts in six-goal thriller

Hearts of Oak took the lead twice but ended up fighting back for a point in a pulsating six-goal encounter at Bolga All Stars on Wednesday.

Ivorian import Alex Kouami ensured the Phobians did not labour in vain as he grabbed his goal in the 75th minute at the Utrecht Park in Tamale.

Vincent Atingah shot the Phobians in the lead almost from the blast of the whistle as he fed onto Winful Cobbinah’s free-kick and powerfully headed home the opening goal.

As early as the 22nd minute, Bolga All Stars coach opted to make two substitutions by pulling out Samuel Norgbey and Rashid Bello for Abdul Razak and Alhassan Rahim respectively.

The tactical decision paid off as Rahim scored with a header three minutes after coming on, 1-1.

Cobbinah however had his plans up his sleeve as he again provided another sublime assist effort for captain Thomas Abbey to shoot Hearts in the lead with his fourth goal of the season in the 31st minute.

Hearts maintained the 2-1 lead into the break but lost it in the 54th minute. Ibrahim Gayisu pulled level for the hosts.

Alhassan Rahim then turned the tide in favour of the Stars of the East with a 62nd minute strike but Frank Nuttall’s men pinned their hosts to the back and deservedly scored 15 minutes from time to secure a point from the encounter.
