Donkor wants motivated Porcupines

Asante Kotoko defender Eric Donkor believes the team needs no external motivation to redeem themselves from present crisis before the first round of the season ends.

The under-pressure Porcupine Warriors who have been on a bad patch in their last seven league games come up against lowly-placed Great Olympics in a matchday 14 fixture in Accra on Saturday.

“If we want to place well on the log by the end of the first round, we definitely have to win these two games against Olympics and Tema Youth.

“It is a difficult period for us the playing body and also the supporters, going seven games without a win. But we have to be self-motivated because Kotoko is a win-oriented club.

“Going into the game against Olympics, we don’t need any motivation from outside, it must come from within us. We have to win this and go on to get those six points. It’s very vital,” the deputy captain for the Porcupines noted.

Asante Kotoko place fifth on the Ghana Premier League table with 20 points, nine behind leaders WAFA SC.
