Woeful Kotoko succumb to Olympics

Asante Kotoko crashed to a fourth successive defeat on the road with Accra Great Olympics pipping them in a two-goal game on Saturday.

In the opening minutes, the Porcupine Warriors looked desperate to finally get it right for the first time since matchday 7 but their hosts outwitted them at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Paul Fiatsi opened the scoring with a fantastic volley from outside of the penalty area after Kotoko failed to clear a corner in the 15th minute.

Kotoko struggled to keep up with the pressing game displayed by their hosts, forcing them to make a number of errors but were lucky to avoid further goals before the break.

Olympics cushioned their lead later on in the 75th minute as Francis Atsu capitalized on some defensive sloppiness to nip a deflected ball past goalkeeper Felix Annan.

Atsu went on to win the NASCO man-of-the-match award.

Ahead of other matchday 14 games on Sunday, the victory over Kotoko moves Great Olympics to 13th position on the league table.
